Tarot for the Healing Heart
by Christine Jette

As many people today are feeling let down by modern medical practices, they are turning to alternative methods for true healing of body, mind, and spirit. Many become healers themselves . healers of themselves. In Tarot for the Healing Heart, Christine Jette, herself a registered nurse, energetic healer and tarot reader, teaches us how to use tarot to heal in all areas of our lives - the physical, emotional, and spiritual. Tarot for the Healing Heart is not just a book about tarot. It can of course stand with your tarot books, but it would be equally at home on your alternative health bookshelf.

The 78 cards of the tarot become important tools in understanding our healing needs through Jette's wise and warm writing, and through the many engaging activities she provides. We learn to redirect our focus from our symptoms to their causes, from a negative viewpoint of illness, to a positive affirmation of wellness. The activities include reading spreads, ritual ideas, meditation instruction, energy channeling, tarot play, and tarot journaling. A complete section on tarot card meanings with regards to their healing qualities is provided. Each card in the tarot is explained through the following categories, "Life lessons (imbalance/dis-ease)," "Life wisdom (balanced energy/healing)," "Actions to support the healing process," and "Contacting your inner wisdom." Jette effectively points out the healing energies of each card, and how they can apply to our own situation.

This gentle and inspiring book is surprisingly powerful. When I worked through it I learned things about my own patterns of illness and pain that were unexpected, and through this learning and new understanding, I changed these patterns. For example, in becoming more aware of why I had chronic headaches and migraines, I was able to reduce the number of instances and their intensity. This is of great significance to me, as I've been suffering from headaches since I was a young child.

Throughout the book, Jette is honest and encouraging. She expresses faith in every individual, yet reminds us regularly to seek medical attention for serious conditions, and cautions to not use the tarot alone to diagnose. Anyone who enjoys using tarot cards for personal development, and who needs healing on any level, will benefit from using this lovely book as a guide to well-being.
